Beautiful place to work

Guess if you have to work in the cold, this is a nice place to do it.

Here at Presby’s Maple Farm LLC we not only make and sell Maple syrup, but we do a lot of other things.  Seems like there is always something to do.  Making Maple syrup takes place in the spring, so during the rest of the year there are other activities to keep us busy.

The list just keeps getting bigger and bigger.  At this time of year, after the Monarch Butterflies hatch, there are some fields to mow.  Some of ours, some of others.  Since the Monarchs like milkweed which grows in the fields, waiting till the Monarchs hatch and fly away is best.

Coordinating all the projects is a challenge.  Just about the time one project gets started, another one pops up!  Most of the items on the list are weather related.  Sunny day – outside activity.  Rainy day – inside activity.  Isn’t that how it is supposed to work?

Well, it would be really nice if good old “Mother Nature” would cooperate more often.  Seems like over the past month there have been more rainy days than nice sunny ones.  The to-do list is a little skewed!

Take yesterday for example, it threatened rain, but field mowing was on the list.  Not the brightest day outside, but a winter coat, hat and gloves made it comfortable.  The wind wasn’t bad either.  What makes it all worth while working in the cold is working in an area with such wonderful views.
